Stephen Colbert Ice Cream

Saturday, February 17th, 2007

Stephen Colbert's Americone Dream I’ve never watched The Colbert Report, so I don’t know what that whole thing is about, nor do I really care. Nevertheless, I think it’s interesting that Stephen Colbert got a new Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavored named in his honor. It’s called Stephen Colbert’s Americone Dream, and the proceeds will benefit the newly established Stephen Colbert Americone Dream Fund, which is a charitable organization.

Politics aside, I can’t wait to try this new flavor when it hits the stores around here!

Get a Cash Advance Today

Thursday, February 15th, 2007

Back when I got my first full-time job more than a decade ago, I was stuck trying to make ends meet while earning just $5.50 per hour. No matter how well I managed my money, it was nearly impossible for me to make it from one paycheck to the next with cash in my pocket. Looking back now, I wish I had known more about the process of getting payday cash advance loans at that time because I sure could have used the help.

Back then, I was under the impression that I would have to have impeccable credit, a lot of collateral, or just generally jump through one hoop after another to get a payday cash advance. But that’s not how it works at all. I’ve since discovered that it’s much easier and faster than I thought. In fact, it often only takes proof of identity, proof of employment, and a bank account to get approved for a payday cash loan. That sounds pretty simple and straightforward to me!

If you’re having trouble making it to your next paycheck, you might want to consider getting a cash advance. If you have the means to pay the loan back on time without incurring any additional fees and service charges, then this could be a good way to help you through some tough times.

Getting Together With Friends

Thursday, February 15th, 2007

For the last couple days I’ve been trying to arrange a get-together with a couple of old friends that I haven’t seen in almost a year. We all live pretty far apart, so that’s why these get-togethers are few and far between. Another reason that we don’t do this often is that it’s just so darn hard to coordinate everyone’s schedules. You’d think that 3 stay-at-home moms would be able to meet up with no problems, but that’s not the case at all.

Although I was at first excited about meeting my friends, the whole back-and-forth of arranging things has taken its toll on me. For instance, I thought we almost had the whole thing worked out — including the day and time — but then one of the women emailed back and said that a different day would be better for her. Helloooo! We already established a day that works! Now we have to go through the whole routine again. Ugh.

I guess I should be thankful that this is the biggest of my worries right now, but still…..

Cool eCards from Egreetings

Wednesday, February 14th, 2007

I spent most of the morning sending Valentine’s Day cards to my friends. I’d been hearing a lot about Egreetings.com and their funny flash greetings, so I decided to use that site this year. I was very impressed with how easy it was to browse through, preview, personalize, and send the eCards, and I’ll definitely use the site again! After all, I’m sure my friends loved to hear Cupid’s best pickup lines when they opened their cards, and spreading smiles is definitely what Valentine’s Day is all about for me.

While I was on the site I saw that I could get a yearly membership for just $13.99. That membership would give me unlimited access to all the premium cards on the site and allow me to send as many Egreetings as I want during the year. It’s free to try, and if I don’t like it I can cancel after 30 days without penalty. Sounds like a good plan, so check it out!

Potbelly’s Sandwiches

Wednesday, February 14th, 2007

I’ve been meaning to mention Potbelly’s sandwiches for a long time now, but kept forgetting until today. Anyway, I am totally a sandwich person when it comes to lunch, and I used to enjoy Schlotzsky’s Deli until the branch by me went out of business. Then I discovered Panera Bread, but didn’t like having to go inside the mall to get there. Now, though, I eat almost exclusively at Potbelly’s.

I am completely addicted to their roast beef sandwiches, and my son loves their PB&J. Yeah, I’m not too keen on paying 5 bucks for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, but whatever! The point is that Potbelly’s is a great place, so you definitely have to eat there soon if there’s one near you.

Get a Free Verizon Phone

Wednesday, February 14th, 2007

Free Verizon LG Chocolate Phone When my husband and I first signed up with our current cell phone carrier, we were attracted more by the phones offered than by the rates involved in the contract. In fact, we actually wanted to go with Verizon Wireless because they had such good deals, but we didn’t like any of the phones that were available to us. Right now we’re into the second year of our contract and have a few months left to go before we can move on to a different plan, but we’re already looking around at what’s out there.

At first, I didn’t even bother to check with Verizon because I figured I still wouldn’t be able to get a phone that I really like. But after browsing through Wirefly.com I can see that Verizon cell phones have come a long way in the last couple of years. For example, they now offer the RAZR, which is of course one of the most popular phones around these days. And they also have this cool LG Chocolate phone that’s actually FREE after a mail-in rebate to customers who open new Verizon accounts. That would be the perfect situation for me since I already know Verizon offers the best plans in my area.

I don’t know if that particular deal will still be around when I’m ready for a new contract and phone, but even if it’s not, I’m sure Wirefly will have something equally attractive in its place. They always do!!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Wednesday, February 14th, 2007

I received a box of chocolates and some flowers from my husband today, and that has raised my spirits quite a bit. I don’t think we’re going to do anything else though. The bad weather coupled with the fact that my son is sick and we don’t want to leave him with a babysitter pretty much guarantees that we’ll be staying home tonight. I’m thinking about ordering dinner from Outback’s take-out service that way we’ll be able to at least enjoy some good food while we’re in.

All About Mortgages

Tuesday, February 13th, 2007

Prior to purchasing our first home, my husband and I put a lot of time and effort into learning about nearly every aspect of the entire process. We were particularly interested in finding information about lending practices we didn’t want to get stuck with an unfavorable mortgage.

Back then, we didn’t use the Internet much, so we were stuck spending long evenings at the public library doing research. Fortunately, it was time well spent as we ended up finding valuable information that helped us choose an excellent mortgage lender.

These days of course, you can learn all about mortgages online from websites such as personalhomeloanmortgages.com. There are many useful articles on the site that will give prospective home buyers the kind of advice they need in order to make sound decisions.

If you’re thinking about purchasing a home, why not visit personalhomeloanmortgages.com for more information.
