Mishmash Musings

I had my monthly orthodontist appointment his morning, and I am in some major pain right now. I was actually looking forward to this session because I was going to get my expander removed (after having it in for almost a whole year). That did in fact happen, and now I have a simple bar attachment in place to keep my upper molars in place.

But what I wasn’t counting on was having my archwire changed to something significantly thicker. There was an immediate increase in pressure when my dentist put the wire in, and then to make things worse, he’s keeping the archwire in place with more wire, instead of just elastic. That’s right, I’ve got wire around each bracket now, and the pain is just incredible!

I’m coming up on my one-year anniversary for having braces on both my top and bottom teeth, and while I can definitely see some improvements, I can also see that I still have a very long way to go.

Sigh. I am soooo ready for this to be over with .
