Wii for Weight Loss
I’ve been reading a lot of stories recently about how the Nintendo Wii is head and shoulders above other video game systems in terms of actually helping people improve their bodies in various ways. Because the Wii uses sensors that pick up user motions (instead of standard game controllers), people who play Wii games are far more active than those who play other video games.
I did a quick search on the Internet and saw that many people are incorporating Wii into their daily routine as a way to sneak in more physical activity. For example, I read about one guy who didn’t do anything different (he ate the same things in the same quantities, and didn’t do any additional exercise) except for playing Wii Sports for 30 minutes per day. In six weeks, he discovered that he had lost 9lbs as a result!
While I think those results certainly wouldn’t be common, it can’t hurt to try. I bought a Wii several months ago, but after playing it for a few weeks, put it away in a closet. I think it’s high time to get that thing out again and give this weight loss routine a whirl!
I’ll post updates from time to time to let you know how it’s going.
