Barack Obama’s Chrysler 300

obama-chrysler-300 I think stuff like this is utterly ridiculous. Some guy in Chicago is selling a Chrysler 300 that allegedly belonged to Barack Obama prior to his becoming president-elect. The car is being auctioned on eBay with a Buy-It-Now price of $1M. As of today, there are 9 bids on the car, and the price currently stands at $101,200.

The auction is very short on details regarding how the current owner knows the car belonged to Obama. I watched a news clip featuring an interview with the auctioneer, and basically he said that he found out about the previous owner because of some random comment that a salesman at the lot made.

Other than that, the auctioneer promises to provide proof of authenticity when bidding ends. If the bidder is not satisfied with the proof, then they don’t have to pay.

Hmm, I wouldn’t trust this sort of thing. If he had real proof, why wouldn’t he post the proof right there in the auction listing?? I mean, he would surely get more bidders that way, right? Obviously this isn’t something I’d have the cash to buy, but still… it doesn’t make sense to withhold proof like that.
