Two Days
I have just two days left before my huge job interview. This is basically my dream job, the first “real” one that I’ve had in my life that I can be proud of. I’ve done a lot of things to get by, like manning a cash register or operating a machine in a factory, but I’ve never done anything that required my college degree or that would make me feel like I’m truly accomplishing something good.
I know you’re not really supposed to tie any part of your self-esteem to what you do for a living, but I can’t help it — especially when I see on Facebook that so many of the people I graduated from high school with are doctors, lawyers, financiers, journalists, college professors, etc. Sure, a good number are stay-at-home moms as well, but that doesn’t help soothe my ego much.
Anyway, I’m going to spend the whole weekend preparing for the interview by practicing answers to potential questions. Also, I’ve tried my suit on to make sure it fits and all that good stuff. I wish I could take a miracle diet pill to drop a pound or two by Monday to make the suit look even better, but obviously that’s not gonna happen. I’ll just have to take it easy on the junk food this weekend!
And no, I’m not going to mention what field or position I’m interviewing for. I’m private like that!
