Colby Curtain gets last wish
Call me a sap, but by the time I finished reading this story, I had tears in my eyes. It’s about a 10-year-old girl named Colby Curtain, who recently died of cancer. Her last wish was to see the new Disney Pixar movie Up. Her mother desperately wanted to make this happen, but Colby wasn’t well enough to go to the theater.
A family friend then tried to communicate Colby’s wish to people at Disney and Pixar. Pixar responded by sending a rep with a DVD of the movie, as well as a bunch of stuffed animals and other memorabilia.
Colby was too sick to actually open her eyes and watch the film, so her mother narrated the action to her. The little girl then died shortly after getting her last wish.
Man, is there anything worse than the death of a young child due to cancer or other catastrophic illness? At least Colby got her last wish, and at least her mother and father were right there with her when she passed.
RIP, you beautiful girl. You were taken far too early.
And kudos to Pixar for responding to Colby’s request.
