College Textbooks
Ugh, I’d forgotten what a total ripoff college textbooks are! I just registered for my fall grad school classes, and then had to go and drop a whopping total of $331.97 on books and supplies. The scary thing is that I bought all used books, which ranged from $20-$30 less than new. I am NOT looking forward to repeating this process for the next few semesters!!
What really sucks is that MU offers digital textbooks that are 50% cheaper than hard copies. But the digital books are NOT allowed to be sold online! How does that make sense?? Wouldn’t students who are taking distance ed classes be the perfect audience for digital textbooks? Man, I hope that policy changes soon.
You could try http://www.bigwords.com They are a textbook search engine that searches all the online retailers and rental sites (including those already mentioned here) to find you the best prices for your books. You can specify whether you want to search for used, new, or both types of books. The best part is that you can even use them at the end of the semester to sell your books too!
That sounds great! I’ll have to give them a try next semester. Thanks so much for the tip!
