11-year-old Mother
Wow, I know teen pregnancy is on the rise again in this country, but wtf is up with preteen pregnancy??? I just read that an 11-year-old girl in the Northeast (nothing more specific than that was stated) gave birth to a baby boy last week. The child and her child are both doing fine. No names have been released in order to protect the anonymity of the family.
It doesn’t say how the girl got pregnant. Let’s just hope it was from her own choices and not from having someone else’s will forced on her. Kind of an odd thing to wish that an 11-year-old was having consensual sex, but there ya go.
I think this is pretty crazy, especially because the grandmother sounded rather supportive in the article. Giving birth at 11??? That baby could be her brother, ffs. I need a moment to wrap my head around this!
