Wait…what???

Sunday, October 9th, 2011

I’ve been completely addicted to Stride gum recently, and have been chewing it almost nonstop for about a month. I know it’s sugarless, but I started feeling a bit of a tingly pain in one of my molars and feared I might be getting a cavity or something. So I decided to google, “Can you get cavities from sugar-free gum” but the autocomplete kicked in and suggested, “Can you get cavities from kissing”. I thought that was rather bizarre, so I clicked on the links and learned that, yes, you apparently CAN get cavities from kissing. It has something to do with passing bacteria and germs in saliva, at which point I stopped reading. Ewww!

SAQ #1

Sunday, June 6th, 2010

I’ve decided to start chronicling a few of the random things I search for on Google, along with some of the answers I find. I’m calling this section SAQ (Seldom Asked Questions).

My first one:

Q: How many feet/meters tall is a typical story (for buildings and houses)?

A: Most of the answers I found said that a typical story ranges from 10 to 15 feet (3 to 4.5 meters), with 10 being the most common answer.

I wanted to know this for a rather grim reason, as I read a news story of someone plunging to death from the 15th story of a downtown office building.
